Lord,

Help me to be a person who loves others genuinely. When I get caught up in my belongings and the material world, remind me it is my relationship with you and others that is ultimately what matters. When I am tempted to look towards myself for guidance, lead me back to you. When I am tempted to be unkind, remind me of what you did for me on the cross. Fill my heart with compassion, just as the heart of Jesus is. May I look to others with an open heart. Amen.
